The arched bridges of Fouskari are located in the area of the Touthoas River, near the settlement of Fouskari in Gortynia. They form a group of three stone bridges connected with the old routes from Lagkadia towards the villages of Heraia. This small route is particularly interesting because it shows how stone, water and local craftsmanship worked together to serve real needs of movement in a demanding natural landscape. The First Fouskari Bridge, also known in this entry as More Bridge, is the most recognizable of the three. It stands next to the public road and is distinguished by its two semicircular arches. Historical information indicates that there was also a third arch, which has collapsed, while its construction is placed in the late 19th century. This is the easiest point from which visitors can begin exploring the bridges of Fouskari. The Second Fouskari Bridge - Watermill is located a short distance from the first, lower in the riverbed area. Its name is connected with the watermill that once stood next to it, a detail that shows that the bridges served not only movement, but also the everyday economic life of the area. Here, visitors can better understand the relationship between the river and the older uses of the place. The Third Fouskari Bridge is more isolated and harder to reach. It is an older single-arched bridge located by following the ravine upstream, on the left side of the river, at a greater distance from the first two bridges. Access requires extra care and should not be attempted without suitable footwear and a good assessment of conditions, especially after rainfall or increased water flow. A visit to the three bridges can work as a short nature and culture route. Visitors see three stone crossings in sequence, observe the Touthoas River, the vegetation and the traces of old routes, and understand how Lagkadia, Heraia and the smaller settlements of the area were connected through local works of stone. The experience is quiet, authentic and requires respect for the landscape. Parking should be done only in safe places without blocking traffic, and approaching the riverbed should be avoided when conditions are unsuitable.
